Beginnings

We have begun our "formal" homeschooling. Whatever that means. Those two words together seem to be an oxymoron...that's what I have discovered this week. We sit down and learn the calendar, our letter sounds, numbers, writing, cutting & pasting. But the real lessons seem to be learned outside of that circle time. Outside of that table time. I watched the boys spend soooo much time blowing up the same balloons over and over again. I am surprised they did not pass out. But so much was learned about inhaling/exhaling. Their little muscles were strengthened around their mouths for better articulation. Even more so they were fully engaged and ecstatic! That's the kind of learning I like to see take place...that's the fun stuff. Simple and real.
