Thorns and Threats

I said it once and I'll say it again. I love this book...Hands-On Nature!!! Each lesson has a story, puppet show, activities and games. Today we learned about animal and plant defenses. We had a puppet show, then we played charades acting out animals/plants defending themselves, i.e. a scared turtle. The kids were also given several pictures of animals/plants and had to match them with the correct description of their defense. My favorite was drawing a creative monster with its own special defenses. Boy would I stay away from what they drew! I have been using this book from the library for at least a month and still have several great lessons left. I do think the activities are better for groups of kids though instead of one on one.

Thanks so much for visiting waters & woods and for leaving such sweet words. The template I use for both my blogs are templates provided by blogger. I simply change the colors & fonts. I created my own header on the website picnik.com. I am glad to have found you and look forward to browsing Gently Led.
