New Ladies

We have 8 new additions to our homestead this fall.  All ladies I might add.  They are interesting to observe. Timid yet aggressive with one another.  We fenced in an area we want to turn into a large garden in the future.  It's a low lying area, so we're frequently adding dirt.  I've discovered the wood chip pile we had dumped on our property is teeming with lots of creepy crawlers, so everyday our girls get a wheel barrow full of mulch to scratch around to find tasty treats.  No eggs yet.  Trying to figure out how these animals tick. They seem to stay behind the coop in a group most of the day.  One thing I love though is how they put themselves to bed without having to be told.
