St. Croix

Chap and I celebrated our 10th anniversary this summer in St. Croix.  We stayed at a luxurious resort, The Buccaneer.  It was breathtaking and so relaxing.  Our room was yards from the beach and pool.  We went late summer and the place was almost vacant as most people vacation in winter.  We were treated to a delicious breakfast buffet every morning with mangoes, guava juice and coffee.  We snorkeled numerous times a day and saw amazing fish, such as angle fish, box fish, sea turtles, starfish, urchins and coral to name a few.  I enjoyed reading under the palm trees and sipping rum drinks.  We hiked to some tide pools one day, shopped in town (not too exciting), went to the Captain Morgan distillery and learned how to drive on the opposite side of the road (scary at times)!  We went to the furthest point east in America.  This was the first time Chap and I flew together and the airport (more like a mall) in Miami was an experience in and of itself.  The kids stayed home with the Aillets, then were split apart with family and the Hubers.  I was anxious to return to them towards the end.  All and all we had a fabulous time!
